The former Spice Girls singer made the comments in a recent interview with New! magazine.
The 40-year-old, who separated from her long-term partner in 2012, is already a mum to daughter Scarlett, but said she would like to have another child.
She said: "I'd love it. I'm not in a relationship so I'm not really in that mind frame at the moment, but I'd love her [Scarlett] to have a sibling.
"She loves playing with other kids because grown ups are boring."
The singer added that she believes her former bandmate, Victoria Beckham, could also have another baby.
Victoria and her husband David are already parents to four children, but Mel said: "I reckon she could squeeze another one out!
"David and Victoria always wanted a big family and they are fantastic parents, so I wouldn't be surprised if there were more Beckham babies on the way."
