Russell Brand has reportedly been designing a wedding ring for his girlfriend Jemima Khan.
The couple are said to have become close in recent weeks and are said to be ready for marriage, even though they only started dating in September 2013.
According to British magazine Grazia, the comedian is said to be ready to take the next stage in the couple's relationship.
A source claimed: "A proposal is definitely imminent. Russell's been working with a friend of his, jeweller Johnathon Arndt, to create the perfect ring. He wants it to include Buddhist and Islamic symbols, and intertwining of their two faiths."
The insider added that Brand had wanted to pop the question for Khan's 40th birthday, which is later this week, but the ring is not ready. As a result, the couple are now planning a romantic trip away.
"Russell is planning a trip to Asia for the two of them in the spring, when he intends to propose," they explained.
"Of course Jemima has to say yes first, but he can't help but get ahead of himself."
Both Brand and Khan have been married before. The comedian, 38, was married to singer Katy Perry for 14 months before he filed for divorce in 2012, while Khan was married to cricketer Imran Khan for nine years. They had two children together.
