The 27-year-old made the announcement via his Twitter account by posting a 'selfie' of himself with Chloe's hand over his mouth, showing a large diamond ring on her ring finger. JB captioned the photo: "She said yes...#chlobeengaged x. (sic)"
His fiancée also posted an image of herself wearing her engagement ring saying: "Can't believe I'm engaged! Love @JBGill so much! X."
Following the announcement, the singer's former bandmates were quick to offer their congratulations, with Aston Merrygold tweeting: "@JBGill @ChloeTangney couldn't keep that secret any longer finally!!!! so happy for you both! #love #oooowegunaparty. (sic)"
Oritse Williams also sent a message from himself and his girlfriend AJ Azari, saying: "Myself & @AJAzari would like to congratulate @JBGill & @ChloeTangney on the Great news! What a great start to the year for you both."
JB and Ms Tangney have been dating since 2008.
