Dog Swallows £18k Wedding Ring

A woman has been reunited with her wedding ring - two days after her pet dog swallowed it.

According to the BBC, trainee police dog Jack chewed his owner Angie Collins's wedding ring before swallowing the diamond.

Mrs Collins, who looks after police puppies while they are being trained, said she had left her £18,000 ring on a side table while she manicured her nails just before Christmas.

She added: "It must have winked at him. I went to the kitchen, came back and it was gone."

Mrs Collins and her husband, Graham, carried out a search for the item of jewellery and while the ring was found mangled on the floor, the diamond was nowhere to be found.

"My husband and I emptied the entire room bit by bit which took hours. I could only conclude that Jack had eaten it," she continued.

"The vet said because a dog's stomach is so intricate it was unlikely I would get it back."

However, Mrs Collins confessed: "As a dog walker you always keep your pet's poop in a bag so I took it home and sprayed it with the hose pipe and sieved it every single day - four times a day at least.

"On Christmas Day I had three poops to deal with and it was in the third poop.

"I had almost given up, so it was the last shot."

The relived owner said she was going to get the ring reset and insured.
