According to The Mirror, the 54-year-old will not be with his current girlfriend – US socialite Lauren Silverman. Ms Silverman is pregnant with the couple's first child together.
The paper claims the music mogul, who has remained good friends with Sinitta, has invited the former singer and her two children to Barbados where they will spend time on his luxury yacht.
A source claims it is Cowell's way of extending an olive branch to his ex following claims they fell out after Sinitta revealed to the press that she had aborted Simon's baby while they were still together.
They said: "It has been a tough year for Simon and Sinitta.
"Simon and Lauren were both upset when she spoke about aborting his baby and it did rock the boat. But the trio have sorted out their differences and are looking forward to spending New Year together."
It is understood Ms Silverman has agreed to the holiday arrangements as she will be spending Christmas in New York with her seven-year-old son from her marriage to ex-husband Andrew.
The insider added: "Lauren wanted to be with her son on Christmas Day and was happy for Simon to spend it with Sinitta, her two kids and Sinitta's partner Jason."
Earlier this year, Sinitta spoke to The Mirror about having the abortion and described it as a "heartbreaking decision".
She added: "It was a long time ago when we were both young. Simon was very concerned and by my side.
"It was upsetting and it was something very difficult that we dealt with together. It's such a heart-breaking thing to go through. It was devastating for both of us."
Cowell and Silverman's child is said to be due in February 2014.
