According to The Metro, 25-year-old Nicola Haighton, who posed as a 'High Street Honey' for FHM magazine, claimed almost £4,000 in income support as a single parent. However, she was prosecuted after investigators discovered photographs and details of her wedding on the social networking site. The £6,000 wedding was held in July.
Among the photographs found, there was one of Haighton's diamond engagement ring. The image was accompanied with the caption: "My sparkler – 3 diamonds... meaning I love you!!!"
Another said: "18ct gold going into platinum – love love love it!!"
When Ms Haighton was challenged on the claims, she said she tied the knot on a "whim", and had separated from her husband just two days later.
However, she later admitted benefit fraud and was given a 12-month conditional discharge. She was also ordered to pay £100 costs by the town's magistrates.
