Nadine Coyle has admitted she has only realised her baby will be American.
The former Girls Aloud singer, who is originally from Northern Ireland but now lives in Los Angeles, is expecting her first child with partner Jason Bell.
She announced her pregnancy in August, but it is only now that she has realised her child will grow up with an American accent and culture.
Expressing her surprise on Twitter, the 28-year-old told her fans: "It just dawned on me that my baby is going to say things like soda."
Over the last few months, Coyle has kept her fans updated with her pregnancy. In September, she described her "shock" pregnancy as a "really great dream" and shared photos of her unborn baby's designer wardrobe, and in October, she confirmed Bell was indeed the father of her child.
Speaking to Hello! magazine at the time, she admitted: "I think we just forgot to tell everyone we were together.
"When I said I was pregnant I thought, 'Why's everyone wondering who it is?' Then I remembered, 'Oh yes, that's right. I do stuff on TV and people are confused.' So this clears it up!"
Coyle and Bell first started dating in January 2008, but in 2011 they announced they had ended their relationship. Rumours that the pair had reconciled then emerged in March of this year after Bell was spotted flying in to London to watch a Girls Aloud concert at the O2 arena.
