Kelly Clarkson has confirmed she is pregnant with her first child.
The singer revealed the news via her Twitter account on Tuesday.
She wrote: "I'm pregnant!!! Brandon and I are so excited! Best early Christmas present ever :)"
Last weekend, the former American Idol winner was forced to cancel a concert due to "illness", prompting speculation that she was in the early stages of pregnancy.
It is thought Clarkson, 31, is suffering from morning sickness.
Last month, Clarkson tied the knot with her fiancé Brandon Blackstock.
Blackstock has two children from a previous relationship, Savannah, 11, and seven-year-old Seth. The two were the only guests at the couple's wedding in October, and the singer has previously said being a stepmother has made her more maternal.
She is quoted as saying: "They're so great. I never wanted kids before, but now I want, like, five."
