The band had been asked to share their celebrity crush, without thinking about who it was, and Sykes immediately answered with his girlfriend's name.
The couple started dating earlier this year after they met while working on a song together.
While Grande is based in the US and Sykes is from the UK, both have been able to spend some time together and the American singer says the long distance and time they sometimes have to spend apart doesn't matter because they are happy together.
In an interview with The Sun, the 20-year-old explained: "We have the same management so it's easy to look at each others schedules and pick out a certain time. But we're not separated for more than a week at a time, usually.
"It doesn't even matter," she added. "It's just such a happy thing. The distance doesn't really take a toll when you're that happy."
