In a declaration, which was filed on Tuesday, in a $50m (£31m) defamation case against magazine publisher Bauer, he stated: "I have in no way cut Suri out of my life."
The actor, 51, is suing the publisher over two tabloid stories it ran in 2012 that claimed he was no longer playing a part in his daughter's life following his divorce from Katie Holmes.
The couple were married for six years, but divorced in June last year.
It is understood Cruise is taking legal action against articles published in Life & Style and In Touch magazines that claimed work on overseas film shoots had stopped him from being a continuous presence in his daughter's life.
The documents, which were obtained by Radar Online, reveal the actor accepted he was "a professional actor in motion pictures", and his job involved "extended periods of time in various parts of the world".
However, he argued that he remained "extremely close" with Suri and they had a "wonderful relationship and cheerful phone calls."
His statement continued: "While I'm sure my daughter misses me when I am not with her (as I miss her), she is a very happy child."
Suri, he continued, "has never indicated, in words or substance, that she has ever felt abandoned by me".
Lawyers acting on behalf of the actor want Bauer to admit it did not have any sources to support its contentions. In response, Bauer's lawyers have argued Cruise's motion should be rejected, referring to statements from confidential sources that allegedly support its claims.
