The former Liberty X singer is currently pregnant with her second child.
Heaton, who is married to Hugh Hanley, are already parents to daughter Faith, but the 34-year-old has previously said this will be the last child she has, as she is due to have an operation to remove her ovaries following the birth.
The singer was diagnosed with the mutated BRCA2 gene, which gives it carriers a high chance of developing cancer. In 2012, she underwent a double mastectomy and breast reconstruction surgery because of the BRCA2 gene.
Speaking to OK! magazine, she explained: "I'm over the moon to be having a boy – which me and Hugh secretly wanted – but if I was going to have a third child there would be another two years of waiting before I could have my ovaries removed and that delay could eventually take me away from my children, so we won't be having any more. We've been lucky so far let's not try to be too greedy."
Heaton and Hanley tied the knot in 2010 and welcomed their first child in 2012.
