Kanye West designed three rings before he proposed to Kim Kardashian, he has revealed.
The rapper, who asked his girlfriend to marry him last week, added that he was nervous about the proposal and wanted everything to be perfect.
Speaking to Power 106's Big Boy morning radio show, 36-year-old West shared: "[Kim] knew I was eventually going to ask her to marry me.
"I just had to get that ring right. I worked with four different jewellers.
"Three rings were made and only one hit the ringer and that was Lorraine's. I actually changed the ring the night before. The ring was less than four hours old when I gave it to her [Kardashian]."
In the interview, West added that he was happy the proposal went off without any problems, but claimed: "I was nervous a little bit. But more about everything being on cue. They didn't have the lights exactly how I wanted them to be."
He then went on to apologise for the extravagant proposal – he had hired out an entire baseball stadium as the venue and also had a 50-piece orchestra in attendance – but when asked about wedding plans, West simply replied: "Two words: fighter jets."
The couple have been dating since April 2012, but the rapper has been a friend to the family for a number of years. In December 2012, the couple confirmed they were expecting their first child together and in June, Kardashian gave birth to their daughter – North 'Nori' West.
