Simon Cowell 'Isn't Good With Babies'

Simon Cowell has admitted he feels he will be a good father, despite "not knowing what to do" with babies.

However, speaking to Parade, the 54-year-old added that he is looking forward to giving his son advice when he is older.

Discussing fatherhood, the music mogul said: "I'm not brilliant with babies. I never know what to do. But [once he's older] I think I'll be a good dad in terms of advice.

"And then I'll get to do all the things I want to do, like go to Disneyland or Universal Studios, teach him how to drive – I love all that."

One thing that Cowell insists he won't be doing though, is influencing his son's taste in music.

He explained: "He'll listen to whatever I listen to and make his own choices. It's funny – my mum played Frank Sinatra when I was a kid, and because he was her choice, I used to hate it; but I love Sinatra now."

In July, a US newspaper revealed The X Factor USA host was to become a parent for the first time with socialite Lauren Silverman. At the time, 36-year-old Ms Silverman was technically still married to her husband – Andrew Silverman – who was also a close friend of Cowell's.

The Silverman's, who have a seven-year-old son together, finalised their divorce in August.

Since then, Cowell and his girlfriend have been spotted together in London and the US. They are due to welcome their first child together in February.
