The couple are said to have married at the Beverly Hills County Clerk's Office in Los Angeles yesterday (17 October).
According to TMZ, eye witnesses said the couple had attended the clerk office to get a marriage licence, but when a court employee suggested they could marry straightaway, they agreed. Their ceremony was held in a nearby courtroom.
A photographer is understood to have been present at the ceremony.
The couple, who have a seven-month-old daughter Lincoln together, announced their engagement in January 2010, but stated they would not get married until same-sex marriage was made legal in California.
In June 2013, the US Supreme Court decided to legally recognise married same-sex couples, Dax proposed again.
