The music mogul took to his Twitter account to reveal the cryptic message, with many suggesting that the "news" is in relation to reports that he is planning to propose to his girlfriend.
Writing on his social networking account, the 53-year-old revealed in a series of messages: "Excited to reveal some news in the next few weeks. Am feeling very positive right now. It's been hard work but nothing should be too easy.
"In life you can obsess on other peoples failures or focus on your own mistakes and work hard to make sure you don't repeat them.
"But hard work and focus gives you a chance to turn a corner. And that's how I am feeling right now."
Earlier this year, it was revealed that Cowell is to become a father for the first time with US socialite Lauren Silverman.
Silverman finalised her divorce with her husband Andrew – who was a close friend of Cowell's – in August and the couple now share custody of their seven-year-old son.
