According to the Daily Star, Appleton is also scared of bumping into him in the street.
A source is quoted as saying: "She feels like a prisoner in her own home now.
"Even though she wants to be defiant and gutsy she really can't face a public showdown with Liam at the moment.
"Before, Nicole was always out and about in the local pubs, cafes and shops. She loved chatting to locals. But now she isn't going out until she's sent the cleaner, the driver or even sometimes the gardener to see if Liam's about."
Making things even harder for the mum-of-one, is the speculation that Gallagher has also moved his new girlfriend and former personal assistant, Debbie Gwyther, in with him.
Gallagher and Appleton first started a relationship in 2000 and in July 2001, the couple welcomed their first child together, a boy named Gene. The pair married in London in February 2008. They separated earlier this year when allegations arose that Gallagher had fathered a lovechild with a US journalist.
The Beady Eye singer is already a father to three. He has a 12-year-old son, Gene, with wife Nicole Appleton; Lennon, 13, with ex-wife Patsy Kensit, and Molly, 15, with Lisa Moorish, following an affair in 1997.
