The former US Open winner tied the knot with American interior designer Kristin Stape in the Bahamas on Saturday.
The couple first met when McDowell, also known as 'GMac', hired Stape to work on his Lake Nona home.
The day before the couple were due to marry, McDowell took to Twitter to joke with Snow Patrol singer Gary Lightbody – who also hails from Northern Ireland.
He wrote: "Getting married on Saturday @garysnowpatrol. Any chances of swinging by and banging out a few tunes? #justsayyes."
The singer responded with his congratulations and asked if they were marrying in LA. When McDowell said: "Bahamas, can you make it?", he then added: "Obviously messing with @garysnowpatrol on my last-minute request for my wedding. Booked that lad from Hangover months ago."
After the wedding, the golfer admitted: "Myself and @kristinstape had an amazing weekend. She made me a very happy man."
The couple are expected to return to McDowell's native Portrush at some point in the near future.
