The singer-turned-actress made the revelation in an interview with Us Weekly.
Simpson and her partner became engaged in 2010 but the 33-year-old fell pregnant and gave birth to a baby girl, Maxwell Drew in 2012. The couple planned to tie the knot following the birth, but they were forced to delay their plans when Simpson discovered she was pregnant again with son Ace Knute.
However, she has now said she is ready to focus on planning her big day.
Speaking to Us Weekly, Simpson said: "We have started talking about it (wedding) again. It's good because we ended up changing our minds about the original plan. We now have a where and when.
"Everybody has just been so anxious for us to get married - including us. And everyone has watched our love develop throughout becoming parents. When we actually do get married, it will be that much more intimate and beautiful. I don't think there will be a dry eye in the place."
Simpson was previously married to Nick Lachey. The couple tied the knot in October 2002 but in November 2005, they confirmed they were to separate. Simpson filed for divorce in December 2005 citing "irreconcilable differences", and their divorce was finalised the following June.
