The 27-year-old actor is said to have recently met up with his former partner, sparking rumours that they could be close to a reconciliation.
A source is quoted by Us Weekly as saying: "They will probably pick up where they left off. Rob is obsessed with her."
However, it is not only Pattinson who appears to still be struggling to get over the relationship as the insider added: "She's [Kristen] still heartbroken. She can't seem to get over him."
The couple, who also played on-screen lovers in the Twilight franchise, ended their four-year-relationship in May. In July 2012, the pair's relationship hit a troubled patch after photographs emerged of 23-year-old Stewart having an affair with her Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders.
The day the photos were published, the actress publicly apologised to Pattinson, saying: "This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry."
In a separate statement, Sanders apologised to his wife Liberty Ross. In January 2013, she filed for divorce, seeking joint custody, spousal support and legal fees.
The couple have two children together.
