Half Of Women Lie To Partner Over Dress Size

Almost half of women admit to keeping their true dress size a secret from their partners.

The secrecy also extends to friends and colleagues of the woman.

The survey, which was carried out by George at Asda, revealed that a further third of women also told lies about their vital statistics, with 77% of females wishing they were a smaller size.

Just 8% of those surveyed were happy with their measurements, with a size 12 topping the list as the most desired shape for a woman.

However, it's not just dress sizes that women are being sneaky about – as 60% admitted they increase their bosom by at least one cup size, while 78% of those who wear a size seven shoe or over shrink their shoe size.

A 34D, or DD, topped the poll as the most longed-for bra sizes while a size five was voted as the 'perfect' shoe size.

Spokesperson for George at Asda, Fiona Lambert, said: "At George, we know that a woman's dress size is a personal matter and a topic which many shoppers may not wish to discuss with others.

"We say: give yourselves a break, ladies. Does anyone apart from you really care what your dress or shoes size is? You're simply condemning yourself to a lifetime of presents you'll have to sneakily swap for a size bigger."
