Actress Claire Sweeney has revealed she suffered a miscarriage last year.
The 42-year-old admitted the loss in an interview with OK magazine.
She said: "When we lost the baby, I was very philosophical about it. It wasn't meant to be. Things weren't right."
Her fiancé, 28-year-old Daniel Riley added: "Claire got pregnant at the start of last year. We got to 12 weeks, and then we lose the baby. It was Claire's first pregnancy. So we've been trying since then."
The couple also revealed they hoped to conceive a baby naturally, and while they had been to a fertility consultation, they had not yet considered using alternative methods to have a child.
"We've had all the tests and we're alright. So it's God-willing, really," Riley added.
Previous tests revealed that the actress is biologically fit enough to carry a baby to full-term.
Sweeney and Riley got engaged on Christmas Eve 2012 and are said to be considering holding their wedding in the House of Lords.
