The reality television star was first rumoured to be dating The Wanted singer last month.
According to New magazine, the 21-year-old is quoted as saying she it "taking it slow" with George and that she is not "worried" about what their respective exes, Mark Wright and Michelle Keegan, who are also now a couple, will think of the relationship.
"As far as we're concerned, they are in our past. It's not something that bothers us or we're worried about.
"We're taking it slow. I want to keep my relationships more private now."
Mecklenburgh added that she is not worried about her new boyfriends' reputation as a ladies' man.
She explained: "I'm not worried about people saying he's a bad boy. They can say what they like. I haven't seen it."
Mecklenburgh, went through a messy break-up with her TOWIE co-star Mario Falcone in April, was first linked to George last month after they were spotted kissing at London's G-A-Y club.
