The couple, who tied the knot on Monday (1 July) are also said to have exchanged vows during a candlelight ceremony, Hello! magazine has reported.
Lavigne wore a black tulle bridal gown for the ceremony at medieval castle, Chateau de la Napoule, near Cannes, France, and said the three-day celebration was a "crazy vacation" style-wedding.
Speaking to the magazine, the 28-year-old explained: "I wanted to make sure it's a crazy vacation and an experience of a lifetime for our guests.
"I wanted it to be over the top. I'm obsessed with castles and I love French décor and Goth ... I found this castle in France and we visited it and it was perfect."
Kroeger, 38, added that he loves calling Avril his wife.
"When you've got that ring on your finger that you get to look at every single day, and you get to call that other person husband or wife, it's a really special feeling.
Lavigne was previously married to Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley for three years before they filed for divorce in 2009.
Lavigne and Kroeger began dating in 2012 after the Nickleback star helped the singer on her fifth studio album.
