Scottish actor Gerard Butler is said to have split from his girlfriend Madalina Ghenea.
The 43-year-old dated the model and actress for more than a year, but in a recent interview with German website Filmreporter.de, Butler confirmed he was single.
When asked if he was in a serious relationship, the 'Olympus Has Fallen' star said: "Not at the moment. But at some point I do want to settle down."
The pair started dating in May 2012 after 25-year-old Ghenea split from Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio, but the couple's relationship status has recently been subject to speculation as they have not been seen together since April.
Ghenea previously spoke of her desire to settle down with the actor, calling him her "first true love".
She said: "I'm ready to have children right now. I've always wanted a family, with many children and pets.
"Gerard's a great guy who knows how to do everything and I hope he will never change in any way."
Butler has been linked to a number of women in the past, including his co-stars Jennifer Aniston and Jessica Biel, as well as reality television star Brandi Glanville.
He previously laughed off his reputation as a 'lothario', saying he doesn't take it too seriously.
"Oh, you know what, I can laugh about it. I'm certainly no angel, but I work hard, take my job seriously and live a passionate life," he added.
