Mother Gives Birth To Third Set Of Twins

A mother from Renfrewshire has beaten odds of 500,000 to 1 after giving birth to her third set of twins, according to the Daily Mail.

Karen Rodger, 41, and her husband Colin, 44, welcomed their newest additions on Wednesday at Glasgow's Southern General Hospital.

The couple are already parents to four boys, Lewis and Kyle who are 14 and Finn and Jude who are 12. Their two baby girls, who are not identical, are to be named Rowan and Isla.

Upon hearing the news she was expecting twins again, Mrs Rodger said: "I just could not believe it. It never crossed my mind that it would be twins again, I just thought that just doesn't happen to people like me but I'm absolutely delighted."

The dance lecturer added that she was told six weeks into her pregnancy and informed her husband via a text message.

"He thought I was joking and immediately wrote back to say 'this is not funny' I had to explain that it really was true," she added.

The pair decided to try for another baby after Mrs Rodger's 40th birthday. After discovering she was pregnant, both Karen and Colin made the decision not to know the sex of the babies before they were born.

The couple are now hoping to convert the loft of their house into bedrooms for their eldest twins so that the girls can have their own room after sleeping in their parents room for a few months.
