More than 100 couples exchange vows at Luss Parish Church on the banks of Loch Lomond each year, according to the Daily Record, and it is now taking its toll on the minister.
The Rev Dane Sherrard has admitted he is struggling to handle duties at Luss as well as the added responsibilities in a nearby church at Arrochar.
Rev Sherrard also wants to focus more on the 750,000 tourists who visit to Luss every year, as many are having to be turned away because of weddings.
Luss church provides services for 15 hotel groups, who organise wedding packages for couples. However, this to be cut to three local hotels, including five-star Cameron House, to protect jobs in the area.
Currently, members of the church can marry at the venue for free, but non-members must pay £600 for a service.
Mr Sherrard said: "We don’t make any profit from the weddings. I’m told that more people get married in Luss Church than in any other parish church in Scotland. I’m doing three weddings this weekend and recently did eight in 10 days.
"I understand how important our church is to people in Scotland and other parts of the world, so I’m sorry that we’re not going to be able to continue as we’ve done in the past.
"Over the years, I’ve tried to say ‘yes’ to everyone but the church can no longer guarantee that there will be a minister available.
"It is sad to hear from people who have journeyed to Luss to visit the church and go away disappointed because it is closed due to a wedding taking place.
"The new wedding arrangements will enable the church to be more accessible for pilgrims and visitors as well as protecting local jobs."
In 2011, the Rev Sherrard banned what he called "cuckoo brides" from the church after newlyweds who had married elsewhere were turning up outside the church to have their wedding photographs taken.
Luss Church has also been the venue for a number of celebrity weddings including Deal Or No Deal TV presenter Noel Edmonds, supermodel Kirsty Hume and former STV presenter Sarah Heaney.
