According to Closer, a source said the television personality is reluctant to finalise details for the upcoming judging role.
Ozzy Osbourne recently admitted that he had suffered a relapse and was now fighting a new battle with drugs and alcohol. It was subsequently reported that the couple's relationship was in trouble, but both have since denied that they are getting a divorce.
Speaking to the magazine, the source claimed: "Sharon is trying to make Ozzy realise what he could lose if he ever touches drugs or alcohol again. She's not ready to move back home until she sees some real long-term change.
"But she still deeply loves him and fears taking The X Factor job in the UK could be the final straw for their marriage. Doing the show would be so full-on, Sharon knows she wouldn't be able to devote her time to Ozzy."
Since the news of Ozzy's troubles broke, his wife was reported to have temporarily moved out of their family home while he got his life back on track.
"Even though she's not living with him now, she's still able to visit," the insider added. "But being thousands of miles away in the UK while he's in LA, would make it harder. She would feel so emotionally torn."
Sharon and Ozzy have been married for 30 years and have three children together; Kelly, Jack and Aimee.
