The Derby Telegraph has said the couple, Geoff Cooksey and Sara Smith, initially booked their wedding at the Izaak Walton Hotel in Derbyshire eight months ago. However, they last heard from the owners on the 9 April.
A number of other couples also have weddings booked at the venue for the coming months, but the gates to the hotel are closed and the owners cannot be contacted.
Cooksey said he was an "emotional wreck" following the news.
He said problems with the hotel began in January when it closed for staff holidays, but failed to reopen for Easter.
He added: "The website then went down and their phone line cut off. I have had e-mails from them promising to get in touch but we have had no other response.
"We went ahead and invited about 80 people. Many of them paid deposits for rooms and no one, including us, has had any money back."
Mr Cooksey (54) and Ms Smith (46) will now exchange vows on Saturday at Callow Hall in nearby Ashbourne, offering to host the wedding and a drinks reception at short notice.
