Emily MacDonagh, who has been dating Andre for eight months, added she did all she could to support her boyfriend, Reveal magazine has said.
Speaking on Peter Andre: My Life on Thursday night, the medical student said: "When you go through something like Pete did with Andrew, you get to your lowest point. This is the way I see it – the people that stay around you are the ones that really care about you.
"I hope he knows that I did my best to look after him and I know he would do the same for me. That's what I said to him, 'I'm not doing it to gain brownie points'. I just wanted to do the best I could do and I know he would do the same for me."
She added: "I think it's brought us closer together. It was a hard time."
Later in the show, Andre praised hid girlfriend for her support.
He revealed: "Things have been so weird, so up and down. I've had this woman standing next to me and she's been amazing at a very difficult time.
"I remember six months ago saying: 'Let's give this a go if you're up for it and let's see how it works out...' But at this stage, I can't imagine her not being there."

Peter Andre's girlfriend has spoken about how she helped the singer to cope following the death of his brother last year.Emily MacDonagh, who has been dating Andre for eight months, added she did all she could to support her boyfriend, Reveal magazine has said.
