According to Grazia magazine, the actress made the decision after the "stressful" wedding planning to ex-husband Brad Pitt.
Aniston's wedding to Pitt was believed to have cost $1m, with the lavish ceremony including a 13-minute firework display as well as 50,000 flowers.
Speaking to the publication, Aniston's former wedding planner, Kevin Lee, revealed: "Jennifer and Justin won't be blowing millions on an over-the-top wedding with hundreds of people they barely know.
"Brad wanted that when she married him, and she got caught up in having a huge day.
"It was ultimately so stressful that she couldn't really take time to enjoy it. So it's going to be small and low-key so they feel relaxed."
Lee added that Aniston wanted to keep things "sweet and romantic" this time, as he explained: "It's about celebrating and spending time with family and their closest friends.
"There will be a meaningful ceremony with heartfelt, loving vows and a wonderful meal. Jen's pure class and style, so expect lots of sweet, romantic touches."
Aniston is expected to tie the knot with fiancé Justin Theroux later this year.
