Pensioner Reunited With Wedding Ring

A pensioner from Dunfermline has been reunited with his wedding ring after it went missing last year.

David Hingston (70) lost his silver wedding band just before Christmas, according to the Scottish Daily Record.

Mr Hingston was at the Kingsgate Shopping Centre in Dunfermline when he lost his car park token. When he couldn't find it, he approached the car park attendant, John Taylor, who offered to help him look again.

When the two men returned to the vehicle, it was Mr Taylor who made the discovery.

The 52-year-old said: "The gentleman came over to say that he'd dropped his token and couldn't find it.

"I asked him if it could be in the car and he said he didn't know. I got a torch and a ruler, because if it falls in the car you can often get it that way. I saw it and at the same time, I spotted this ring.

"He was overjoyed and couldn't thank me enough. I'm very pleased for him. It's something important in a person's life and I'm just glad I could help."

Mr Hingston has been married to wife Joy for 19 years.
