The former host of The Big Breakfast is married to actor Lee mead and the couple have a two-year-old daughter together.
In a recent interview with Closer, the television star spoke of her personal life now – and back in the nineties.
She said her "girl power" years when she was hosting The Big Breakfast alongside Johnny Vaughn were "amazing", but that her personal life was totally different. Despite being "tough as nails" in her career, she did admit: "Back then, emotionally I just craved my white picket fence and my happy-ever-after.
"The whole empowerment act was all very well, but I kept getting my heart broken. I was a complete pushover who talked the talk, but really only wanted to be someone’s girlfriend."
Denise is now happily married to musical actor Lee Mead.
Mead was the winner of search-for-a-star reality show Any Dream Will Do, which Van Outen was also involved with. After a whirlwind romance, the couple were married within a year. They now live in Kent with their daughter Betsy.
