The study, which was carried out by natural cold remedy company Kaloba, found mothers had to hold down a paid job in addition to caring for their children and managing the home.
The survey found tasks such as taking care of pets, cooking and preparing meals and running errands for the family were carried out by mums from 6.45am up until they started work - and then again after work until 7.52pm when the kids were in bed.
It also revealed three quarters of mothers rarely had a chance to sit down and relax to eat breakfast or dinner at home because of their busy schedule.
On top of this, two fifths of women also held down a full-time job, adding another 37 hours and 30 minutes to the time they spend on the go each day.
A spokesman for Koloba, said: "Mums have to work so hard to keep everyone in the family happy, but it's amazing to see exactly how many hours they have to put in.
"There are so many different tasks to carry out on a daily or weekly basis, and a huge percentage is doing this top of a paid job of some form. It makes you wonder where families would be without a mum doing what they do."
Breaking the figures down, the study of 2,000 women found (in an average week) that more than eight-and-a-half hours are spent entertaining the children, while almost five hours is spent on cooking and preparing meals.
Three hours and 38 minutes is taken up with chores and cleaning, with more than two hours dedicated to buying food and groceries.
One hour and 27 minutes is set aside for making the bed and tidying bedrooms, one hour and 25 minutes is spent on helping the children with their homework while a further hour and 20 minutes is spent looking after the family pets.
Of the women surveyed, 92% admitted being a mum is a full-time job in itself, but most did get a break at the weekends, when the dad is home to help with his share of the housework.
