Couples Make A Splash With Underwater Weddings

Couples in Thailand have celebrated underwater love by getting married at 12 metres deep.

The qualified divers said 'I do' in Thailand's Trang Province on Valentine’s Day.

"The first underwater wedding came about 18 years ago," organiser tells The Metro.

"Many tourists came here and left rubbish in the sea so we sent divers to go down and collect it.

"During that time two divers met, fell in love and decided to get married down there."

The current world record for a mass underwater wedding was set in the area in 2001 when 34 couples from 22 nations got took the plunge.
