Couples Attempt To Break Kiss World Record

Thai couples are preparing for Valentine's Day by attempting to break the Guinness world record for the longest kiss.

The current record stands at 50 hours, 25 minutes and one second. In accordance with the guidelines, couples drank water out of a straw whilst making sure their lips stayed sealed.

Lips must be locked at all times for the record to be eligible, including during toilet breaks.

The longest kiss was achieved by Nonthawat Charoenkaesornsin and Thanakorn Sitthiamthong at an event organised by Ripley's Believe It or Not! in Pattaya, Thailand on 12-14 February 2012.

The event started with 7 couples but ended with only 1, after they dropped out one by one.
