Murray Jummun, 40, threw the ring from his back pocket into the cashbox with his fare on his way home from work at Clydebank’s Golden Jubilee National Hospital .
The medic, who has been married to Suzanne for 10 years, was shocked to discover he had lost the ring.
Murray, of Scotstoun, Glasgow, told The Sun: "I’d taken the ring off to put on hair gel after work. The bus driver was really helpful — she told me how to contact customer services. The next day, I got a call from First at 8.30am saying they had retrieved my ring.
"The security team brought it to me at work. I’d like to thank their lost property service and the security team."
Alan Pert, First Glasgow’s security manager, told the paper: "In special circumstances such as this, we get involved to locate misplaced wedding rings in cash boxes.
"It doesn’t happen very often and we were pleased to reunite Murray with his."
