For instance, in New Jersey, USA, increasing numbers of men are opting for line and wrinkle treatments in order to look good as the Father of the Bride.
According to plastic surgeon Dr Steven L. Davis, these men are undergoing treatments to ensure they feel confident when walking their daughters down the aisle on their big day.
Treatments such as dermal fillers and Botox have become popular options for these men. One such patient was Tom Colucci, who decided to have line and wrinkle treatments as soon as he spotted the most common sign of ageing – wrinkles.
Mr Colucci said: “I’m starting to see some creases and extra wrinkles that weren’t there before. I want to look as good as I did ten years ago for my other daughter’s wedding.”
Dermal fillers can be injected into moderate to severe lines and wrinkles, while Botox is a muscle relaxant that can reduce the appearance of existing wrinkles around the eyes and forehead, while also preventing further ones from developing in the future.
Mr Colucci, who had already shed over 30lbs in advance of the wedding, said that he wasn’t interested in undergoing any surgical treatments and was instead looking for a non-surgical alternative.
Dr Davis, who performed the procedure for Mr Colucci, commented that: “Wedding seasons nowadays are like Christmas or New Year’s.”
