UCLan’s Centre for Volunteering and Community Leadership students organised the party as part of UCLan’s Diamond 60 commemorative events to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Year.
Twelve couples from across the Red Rose county shared their stories with the students on six decades of happy marriage.
Many words of wisdom included having "no secrets", "a good sense of humour" and "having trust in each other".
Another interesting story came from another couple who announced they only got married in March 1952 because they saved money by getting a full year’s tax back.
