Vicky Wells, who was walking her pet Bo on the Gatewarth Industrial Estate in February, was punched in the face before the attacker stole her two diamond rings and a watch.
Speaking to the newspaper the 53-year-old said: "I felt like there was someone behind me.I turned around and he was quite close to me with his hood up. He asked for my phone but I didn’t have it so then he whacked me.
"When he hit me I put up my hand to protect my face and he saw my rings and said give them to me. I could just feel my heart thumping in my chest, my legs were wobbling and I thought they were going to go. I gave him the rings because I just wanted him to go."
Vicky raised the alarm after the attacker fled. Her dog had run off and it took her about five minutes to catch her.
"She’s really friendly and licks everyone but has been off her food since," she added. "You just don’t believe it can happen to you and I don’t want anyone else to go through that.”
