According to the Daily Mail, Greg and Erikka Smith, from San Francisco, first initially contacted photographer Michael James requesting a traditional engagement photo-shoot but when he discovered they were both huge Star Wars fans he suggested incorporating that into the photos.
"We always like to meet with our clients before working with them,' James told the paper. "We took the couple out to dinner, and while we were chatting and becoming friends, they mentioned their love of Star Wars.
"While I'm a Star Trek fan, we laughed about our love of the opposing Sci-Fi forces.
"Then the bride explained that she was interested in doing a Star Wars themed shoot. I was immediately interested."
The shoot took place in the Santa Cruz Mountains, California, Erikka wore full Sith attire while Greg went for a Jedi Master look.
The couple will marry in February 2012.
