The Meenawala Charitable Foundation plan to build a large wedding venue, banqueting hall and conference centre according to the Lancashire Evening Post.
One application has been rejected but another bid has been launched.
Al Samarraie from Design consultant Archi-Structure told the paper: “They wanted more information in two areas.They wanted us to do a new traffic survey which we have done, and they wanted to know what we were going to do with the hall and how we were going to fill it up, so we gave them that detail.The design is the same, they asked if they could improve the two ends which we have also done.
“At the moment there is no facility like it in Preston. Rather than people hiring places in Manchester or surrounding areas, this is closer to home. It would bring employment to the area.”
