According to research women's success in the workplace is making it increasingly difficult for them to find 'traditional' husbands who are richer and better educated.
The new research from America, published in the latest issue of The Atlantic magazine, said women’s success is making it increasingly difficult for them to find ‘traditional’ husbands. So, they are 'marrying down'.
Yes according to this research a quarter of women are better paid than their husbands and 600,000 men are now labelled as 'Stay-At-Home-Dads' and this figure is rising.
There is some that might be stay at home dads however criticism has emerged that they are what we used to call, at best, 'unemployed' or, at worst, 'layabouts'.
David Willetts, the Universities and Science Minister, reports that we have 'a decreasing pool of the kind of men women graduates have always tended to marry' and, as a direct result, 'a significant trend' for them not to marry, not to have children or — disastrously — to 'marry down'.
