According to The Record-Courier, Justin Lew Harris, 35, of Gardnerville, Nevada, threw his mother, 56, out of the Carson Valley United Methodist Church last Monday after she loudly objected to the ceremony.
The wedding was called off. The reasons for the objections have not be revealed.
In a statement the mother said: "As soon as I walked in church, Justin grabbed me by the neck of my shirt and drug me out of the church."
Harris,who was jailed on $28,000 bail told deputies his mother showed up at church "yelling and screaming, so I carried her to her car because she has bad legs.
"The only thing I did was carry her to the car. I would never hurt my mother," he said in a statement.
Harris faces demeanour disorderly conduct and coercion charges, he will appear in court for a hearing on Nov 2nd.
