Sky Take A Chance On 'The Love Machine'

First impressions are everything in Sky Living HD's brand new dating show The Love Machine.

Presented by the UK's no.1 DJ Chris Moyles and Stacey Solomon the show will focus on a giant dating machine filled with single guys and girls hoping to be selected by the night’s contestants.

Forget chat up lines and awkward introductions - The Love Machine asks its contestants to pick a potential date on looks alone.

Two couples created by the show will then go head to head and tackle the issues men and women confront on a first date but never normally dare to discuss – sex, money and fanciability.

The winning couple will go on an incredible holiday for two - but not before one dastardly final twist that gives them the chance to ditch their date for a last minute upgrade. Viewers will also be able to play the machine for themselves at home on Facebook.

Presenter, Chris Moyles said: "I'm really excited about hosting the show. It's all the awkwardness of a giant speed dating event but in front of a live studio audience and on the TV."

Stacey Solomon also added: "Each contestant will only have a brief glance of who The Love Machine picks for them, but I hope we prove that there really can be love at first sight. I'm a big romantic at heart and I can't wait for Chris and I to play cupid each week."

It will be at the forefront of the channel’s spring 2012 schedule and is part of Director of Sky Living Jane Johnson’s strategy to attract the biggest names in entertainment to the channel.

Duncan Gray, Sky's Head of Entertainment, commented: "The Love Machine is a funny, entertaining and at times painfully honest game show based on the oldest dating principle around – looks and first impressions count!"

It will be executive produced by Henrietta Conrad, Anna Blue, Nicholas Steinberg and series produced by Jessica Thomas, Princess Productions. The series was commissioned by Duncan Gray, Head of Entertainment, Sky. The series will transmit on Sky Living HD in spring 2012.
