Woman have revealed their most annoying first date pet peeve is when their date is smelly.
Nearly half of the women surveyed by social dating network Zoosk to coincide with National Pet Peeve Week want their date (and their breath) to smell nice.
Women ranked their pet peeves as follows Women want you (and your breath) to smell nice! Single women ranked their top pet peeves on a first date as follows:
• 1 pet peeve – when my date is smelly (45%)
• 2 pet peeve – when my date is "too occupied with a mobile phone" (22%)
• 3 pet peeve – when my date is running late (13%)
• 4 pet peeve – when my date talks about himself too much (5%)
• 5 pet peeve – when my date peppers me with questions and treats the date like a job interview (5%)
Single men want their dates to turn off their mobiles. They ranked their top pet peeves on a first date as follows:
• 1 pet peeve – when my date is "too occupied with a mobile phone" (51%)
• 2 pet peeve – when my date is smelly (21%)
• 3 pet peeve – when my date is running late (10%)
• 4 pet peeve – when my date peppers me with questions and treats the date like a job interview (7%)
• 5 pet peeve – when my date is wearing too much makeup (7%)
When it comes to first date conversation, women don't care for sexual innuendo while men don't mind it.When asked to name their top pet peeve about first date conversation, the majority of women (53%) said it irks them when a date brings sexual innuendo into the discussion. Only 9% of men, on the other hand, are irked by their date making sexually suggestive comments.
Men say "please shave" and women say "please dress appropriately" to avoid a first date disaster.
• When it comes to pet peeves about a date's physical appearance, men and women agree on the top three things that bother them, but the sexes rank these turn-offs differently.

The Zoosk poll was conducted online in October 2011 and fielded 1,559 responses from singles in the U.S. who use Zoosk.
