''Those that cannot see, are not neccessarily blind; for when I close my eye's, I see perfectly'' I have absolutely no idea who was quoted as saying this first, so I will not lay claim to it myself.....perhaps it was me but, to be honest, it matters not. I am Joe Courtney and the quote above has great meaning to me personally, as I am lucky to have my sight today, for I was virtually blind for 18 months, but, I do not wish to bore you with the details.....so enough said. My photography means so much to me, whether or not it's for a client or just personal stuff for myself. I strive to produce images that I'm comfortable with & I'm fairly critical of my own work so for me it has to be up to the standard that I would expect to achieve. I have my own style of photography, which, I hope is pleasing to the eye, so I'm hoping that you like it.

I was born in April 1969 & grew up in Kent,England. I attended Northfleet Boys School (sometimes), & then on to College, where I studied Engineering. Since then I have gained aditional honours, awards & accolades in different fields of study, including Photography.

My photography career started as a hobby until I decided to turn Pro in 2010 by creating Joe Courtney Photography.

In my spare time I have a keen interest in Flyfishing, and go whenever I can, to fish for Trout but, unfortunately not often enough.

I have been married for almost eighteen years and live in Balligan (between Ballywalter & Kircubbin), County Down, with my wife Hazel, daughter Hannah (17), son Sam (16) and my dog Rags (2).
