Speaking to People.com, the singer confessed that the pair eloped on vacation in Hawaii in July – the same month they went public with their romance – with just a few of their friends in attendance. The following month, Jordin, 28, discovered that she was pregnant with the couple's first child.
She is quoted by People.com as saying: "It [The pregnancy] was like such a shock for both of us, and then I started bawling in the closet."
When asked if they were happy tears, she replied: "Nope; they were shocked, scared and terrified tears. I'm going to be completely honest, I was just like, 'Oh my gosh!'"
However, the former American Idol winner insisted that she and her 25-year-old husband are delighted with the news that they are to become parents.
