X Factor Singer Confirms Engagement

X Factor contestant Christopher Maloney has announced he is engaged.

The 36-year-old and his long-time partner, Gary Doran, were on holiday in Egypt when the singer popped the question.

The couple, who have dated for seven years, were at the Sinai Desert Oasis in Sharm El Sheikh when Maloney proposed. They were joined on their trip by close friend Danniella Westbrook.


Taking to Twitter to confirm the news, he wrote: "Me & @garydoran00 had a fantastic engagement here in Sinai Desert Sharm el sheikh Egypt with @westbrookdanni.

"Thank u SO MUCH for ALL ur kind words on mine & @garydoran00 engagement in Egypt & thanks to @westbrookdanni for coming over for celebration (sic)".

No further details are available, but it is thought the couple plan to marry later this year.
