Earlier this month, it was revealed that John Whitbread's wedding fell through just six weeks before the date, but he and his then-fiancée had already booked a two-week trip to the Dominican Republic for their honeymoon.
Following the end of the relationship, the "dumped" 32-year-old decided to auction off his ex-partner's spot on the trip and look for a woman to join him on the holiday instead.
Placing the £1,800 trip on eBay, Mr Whitbread was soon inundated with bids, with the auction finally closing at £8,000. However, the winning bidder then failed to pay. He offered the next highest bidder the chance to accompany him on the trip, which begins on 16 February, but they too, failed to pay.
Still left with a free spot, Whitbread held a raffle. He sold tickets for £10 and the winner drawn out of a hat has agreed to jet off with him. She has agreed to go on the trip with him.
According to the BBC, the "Jilted John" raffle raised £1,420 for charity Balls to Cancer.
