Emma Atkins Reveals Pregnancy

Emma Atkins has revealed she is pregnant with her first child.

The actress, who plays Charity Dingle in Emmerdale, confirmed her baby news in a video message for ITV.

The 39-year-old, who is due to be temporarily written out of the soap as she goes on maternity leave, told her fans: "I do have a mixture of emotions going around because obviously I'm leaving for a while.


"I am leaving. Probably for about a year because I'm leaving to have a baby which is really exciting.

"I will miss Emmerdale so much but it is a new little journey in my life that I'm taking on now.

"I can't wait to come back – hopefully within a year."

It will be the first child for Atkins and her partner Tom.
